Goals or Intentions | Sunday Scrap
Hello Creatives!
Hope you're all having a great after holiday. Ah, hate to say it but it feels good to put the tree away and get back to my normal schedule. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and had a wonderful holiday with my husband. But we all get off track, and let’s face it our bodies love discipline. With the first week of January ending, how many of us have made goals or resolutions this year? I have recently been struck with a comment about, whether or not to make resolutions, or intentions. I love the feeling behind this but have been struck by another thought. Although I feel that intentions are good it struck me with another phrase,
"the road is paved with good intentions."
It has always been “I intended to do this, this year, or that, this year.” And that’s all well and good. But I really feel like for me, setting a goal, is better. I feel a goal is an intention with a plan.
I recently posted a quote in my social media about how we shouldn't make rules for ourselves, rules create boundaries, and when we often fail, instead of learning from our failure, we tend to think only about our failure. I really feel like setting a goal and making a plan is better. Of course, life happens, and things get flexible, that is why your plan can be flexible as well, to develop and grow, as we do.
Intentions however good, are very close to reason. That little devil … reason.
"It’s so cold out today, it's okay if I skip just one walk."
But a plan is more like:
"Well its cold out but I promised I'd walk 5 days this week."
Then usually consists of me checking the weather and choosing to do it on a Saturday. My goal helps keep me in line what I truly want. Goals, don’t have to be serious or life changing, they can be creative, to give yourself some more "me time", or try to make some more time to "date" your husband. Whatever they are, have fun, make sure they challenge you and make you happy.
Below I have a great printable for #sundayscrap. It seems like for ever since I have posted anything for Sunday scrap, but with my business goals looming before me, I’m excited to jump back into things and set a plan to make it happen for you guys this year, and offer more freebies.
You can choose a 3x4 card and a new fun 3x8 Card to place in your photo pocket binder, or even your travelers’ notebook! if you do use them, be sure to use the hashtag #sundayscrap or tag me @thecraftypocket on Instagram or Facebook! I'd love to see what your goals are this year!
