Bullet Journaling | My approach
Hello!
So, ( big sigh....) I started bullet journaling this week....
I say this with a sigh, and a bit of happiness to my voice. After a long week of anniversary shenanigans, and a week of surviving my first autumn cold, I jumped head first this week into bullet journaling. I'm sure you have heard all about bullet journaling world, the awesome doodles and all the colorful supplies evolved in making beautiful and elaborate layouts. If you haven't heard of the newest trend, you can hop onto google or pinterest and read all about the new cool way to get organized.
I've always been a very organized person with a little bit of chaose to my household. With a hard working man that is now traveling for work, and a stay at home business, working out to stay on top of my health, life gets busy and messy! We all need a vice that helps us get stuff done, and stay some what on top of what the world throws us.
For several years now I have used the cleaning mama printable. Among the two kits I have used her meal planning kit, and her budget planning kit. About 5 years now and, I have always been pretty meticulous about pencil and paper when it comes to brain dumping my ideas. When it comes to relieving stress and anxiety, I strongly believe in getting things out of the head and onto paper where I can organize my thoughts. When your brain is constantly trying to remember and organize your tasks of the day, future dates, and the stuff life throws you, we tend to pull into over drive, get stressed out, and become just plain jumpy, grumpy, and tired.
I promised myself, after pinterest -ing millions of bullet journal photos, that I would take a minimal approach first and find what works for me. I'm sure you have seen you can get pretty elaborate, and colorful with doodles, fonts, calligraphy and supplies. But, all you really need is a notebook and a pen. You look at the entire system at bulletjournal.com or you can snag lots of great ideas on which approach you want to take in the bullet journaling world. I however love the minimalist approach.
Right now, my above supplies is the basics in which you need. I am currently using:
Moleskine - A5 20.00
Small File Folder ( for receipts and bills) - Silhouette
PostIt Notes - for brainstorming board 2.00
Sharpie Pens - Walmart 3.50
Pilot G2 07 Gel Pen - Walmart 3.00
Metal Ruler - 6 for 4 colors on amazon.com
Be My Honey - Pouch - Bath & Body Works 5.00
This is literally all you need to start bullet journaling. I also ordered the Zebra Mildliner Highlighter set which you can snag on amazon for 15 bucks for the whole 15 piece set. I'll be sure to write a review when I get a chance to use them. If you have any advice about bullet journaling you can drop me a line, or write your comments below!
